About Us

History

In 2010 Bicycle Institute of South Australia (now Bike Adelaide) obtained a grant from the Dept Premier & Cabinet and Conservation Council of SA to purchase tools and equipment.
The City of West Torrens offered premises, and from July 2011-Jan 2015, the Adelaide Community Bicycle Workshop was located at their community centre at Long Street, Plympton. In Jan 2015 we moved to our current location at 113 Franklin St Adelaide.

Aims

The aim of the Adelaide Community Bicycle Workshop is to operate as a community bicycle workshop co-operative dedicated to the repairing, and recycling, of bicycles.

We are staffed by volunteers and Mike Brisco is the Workshop Coordinator .

We aim to assist others to become more self reliant and confident with maintaining their own bicycles.
We welcome the opportunity to assist you with learning how to:

  • Repair and/or replace a tube.
  • Undertake a basic safety check of your bicycle to identify problems.
  • Simple steps to maintain your bicycle.
